Top SchoolJarmo Torvinen is an enterprise architect and embedded systems specialist with 25 years in software development and 17 years of focused experience driving device-to-cloud platforms at scale. He designs and governs end-to-end architectures—from low-power sensor firmware through mobile apps to global time-series data infrastructures—while keeping a hands-on, pragmatic approach that avoids unnecessary complexity. At Polar he has led in-house OS and deeply embedded platforms used in millions of devices, guided cross-domain R&D teams, and driven EU cybersecurity compliance (RED/CRA) work that aligns regulation with implementable architecture. He mentors engineering teams, establishes scalable development and quality practices, and pragmatically advances AI and data-driven tooling into product platforms. Based in Oulu, Finland, he blends deep embedded technical depth with long-term platform sustainability and a knack for translating research and silicon conversations into practical product value.
