Top SchoolJazz Turner-baggs is a Chat Research Lead with 13 years of hands-on experience designing realtime system architectures, functional-programming-first solutions, and massively parallel ML platforms. Based in Vancouver, they currently develop protocols for truly decentralized chat at Waku after senior engineering and founding roles at XMTP Labs and Modern Data. Their background spans network management, security, and custom high-performance systems—work rooted in academic research on co-evolutionary genetic programming and GPU-accelerated platforms from Dalhousie. Jazz combines practitioner-level knowledge of cryptographically sensitive, resource-constrained environments with production-grade software delivery for critical applications. They bring an uncommon mix of research depth and product-focused engineering, often applying ideas from genetic programming and parallelism to real-world network and chat protocols. Jazz’s career shows a pattern of moving complex, bleeding-edge concepts into resilient, deployable systems.
