Top SchoolJeremy Cheng is a backend software engineer with 9 years of experience building low-latency, high-throughput systems and cloud-native APIs across payments, travel, and crypto domains. He’s delivered mission-critical services at Rakuten—replacing legacy stacks, migrating APIs to cloud, and optimizing multi-region Kubernetes clusters for millions of users—and now leads a high-frequency cryptocurrency trading tool capable of executing up to 1,000 trades per second with sub-100ms latency. Proficient in Python, FastAPI, Java, Kubernetes, and AWS, he combines hands-on engineering with mentorship, automating testing and CI/CD to boost reliability and speed. Notably, he’s implemented practical safeguards like double-trade protection and cost-saving caching strategies, and has a knack for bridging product requirements into resilient, observable systems.
