Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolJeremy Hanmer is a Distinguished Engineer based in Portland with 13+ years of hands-on experience designing and operating large-scale Debian-based hosting infrastructure. He grew DreamHost’s fleet from dozens to thousands of physical and virtual servers, blending deep Linux and Cisco network expertise with systems automation in Perl, Python, and cloud tooling like OpenStack, Ceph, oz, and SDN. As a former VP of Security and long-time director of technology, he couples operational leadership with practical security tooling and monitoring at scale (Nagios installations monitoring tens of thousands of nodes). Jeremy is equally comfortable writing low-level installation automation and building cloud-native services, and he has a knack for turning messy, manual workflows into robust, auditable systems.
