João Sales
Staff Software Engineer at Memed
São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil
Summary
🤩
RockstarJoão Sales is a Staff Software Engineer based in São Paulo with 13 years of hands-on experience building full-stack and microservice architectures for healthcare and enterprise systems. He has deep practical expertise in designing APIs, OpenAPI-driven contracts, Dockerized deployments and cloud services (AWS), and has led implementation of critical services like digital signature, prescription access and pharmacy dispensing integrations. João progressed from web developer and network administrator to senior and staff engineering roles, bringing rare operational knowledge of infrastructure and long-term product ownership. He favors decoupled, testable APIs that let frontend and backend teams work in parallel, a pattern he helped institutionalize at Memed. Early experiences — from farming and glasswork to teaching literacy — shaped his pragmatic problem-solving, adaptability and attention to detail under constraints. Now focused on scalable healthcare platforms, he combines technical depth with a track record of shipping production services that integrate complex external systems.
