Summary
👤
SeniorJohn Jensen is a data-driven network reliability manager with 11 years of hands-on experience designing, automating, and operating large-scale datacenter and backbone networks. Currently leading Network Reliability at CoreSite, he has driven nationwide 100G backbone builds, operationalized OCX Enhanced Network Services, and embedded DevOps practices to shrink man-hours and technical debt. His background spans multiple roles at Amazon where he standardized network designs for building automation, developed production-grade automation for BGP and monitoring, and supported early CloudFront deployments. Comfortable with Perl, Python, Ansible, Docker, and observability stacks like Elasticsearch and InfluxDB, he blends scripting chops with pragmatic architecture choices. Known for mentoring engineers and resolving high-severity incidents, he favors the simplest robust solution and relentlessly automates repetitive work. An underrated strength is his long-term perspective: he balances rapid deployment with maintainability, having evolved from data center technician to strategic manager.
