Top SchoolJohn Storey is a Staff Software Engineer and Salesforce Apex specialist with 7 years of focused cloud and devops experience and a decades-long history architecting scalable package-based Salesforce solutions. He blends hands-on technical leadership—establishing SFDX/2GP strategies, CI/CD, and SOLID-driven Apex patterns—with mentoring and governance to raise team velocity and long-term maintainability. Before his tech career he served as a US Navy officer and P-3 pilot and later earned Airline Transport Pilot credentials and instructor ratings, giving him rare operational insight for manned/unmanned aerospace and systems-management projects. Comfortable shifting between deep engineering work and strategic architecture, he runs his own consultancy and currently leads Salesforce devops initiatives at Thrivent. Less obvious: his background as a public speaker and aspiring voice actor makes him unusually effective at communicating complex technical concepts to both engineers and nontechnical stakeholders.
