Top SchoolJose Miranda is a Principal Engineer with 11+ years leading structural analysis and automation at Pratt & Whitney, specializing in finite element modeling, fracture mechanics, and rotating/engine structures. He combines deep mechanical design and FEA expertise (ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran/Patran, Hypermesh) with strong software skills—VBA/.NET, Python, Tcl-Tk and custom tooling—that have delivered six-figure cost savings and streamlined department workflows. A hands-on mentor, he develops proficiency in teams, creates validation and job-submission tools, and automates repetitive modeling tasks to reduce cycle time and turnbacks. His background spans CAD-driven design, CNC programming, and shop-floor production leadership, giving him practical insight from concept through manufacture. Fully bilingual and entrepreneurial, he founded a web development business and brings a habit of eliminating repeat work—“not doing the same thing twice”—to both engineering and tooling.
