Top SchoolJosh Gachnang is a pragmatic CTO and full-stack engineer with 11 years of experience building and scaling React, React Native, Node, and Django applications, currently leading technology at Flourish Health. He has a strong track record delivering HIPAA-conscious healthcare products, migrating legacy platforms to modern stacks, and optimizing performance for demanding UIs—once rendering tens of thousands of live polygons smoothly on a Leaflet map. As a freelance lead he’s launched mobile + Apple Watch apps, guided migrations to React Native, and helped teams ship features quickly while mentoring engineers. He combines hands-on implementation with operational chops (Ansible, AWS) and a product-minded approach to UX. Based in Madison, WI, he publishes, speaks, and mentors regularly, and pursues automation and home-automation side projects like a life-automating chatbot and house-wide Magic Mirror displays. Not actively looking for roles, he’s available for strategic freelance engagements that improve apps and developer velocity.
