Seattle, Washington, United States
Summary
🤩
RockstarJoshua Piccari is a Senior Software Engineer in Seattle with 15 years of experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems, currently building AI/ML-driven platforms to optimize AWS’s global data center operations. Over eight years at AWS he architected telemetry and processing pipelines that ingest billions of data points with five-nines uptime and helped drive a public 40% reduction in data center water usage. He founded and scaled an AI/ML engineering team to 10 engineers, partnering closely with data scientists to turn real-time insights into capacity and sustainability wins. His expertise spans low-level device telemetry, real-time stream processing, and deploying GenAI and ML models in production across millions of endpoints. Joshua pairs deep systems engineering (Java, Kotlin, Python, AWS services) with hands-on mentoring—nearly a dozen mentees advanced from intern to senior under his guidance. An early career background in front-end innovation and operations gives him an uncommon end-to-end perspective on infrastructure, product, and developer experience.
