Top SchoolJulien Dumazert is a founder and engineering leader with 11 years of experience building cloud-native data platforms and energy storage solutions. He co-founded Data Mechanics (YC) and led its product and engineering teams through acquisition, then headed the Ocean for Apache Spark platform at Spot by NetApp. More recently he co-founded Storio Energy to deploy and operate battery storage for commercial sites, combining real-time control software with business models that monetize grid flexibility. Julien blends deep technical expertise in distributed data systems and machine learning with hands-on product design, pre/post-sales engineering, and team building. Trained at École Polytechnique and ETH Zürich, he pairs academic rigor with startup pragmatism and a background as a platoon leader that informs his people-first leadership. He is equally comfortable shipping low-level platform optimizations and shaping go-to-market strategies for complex technical products.
