Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolJustin Zhao is a software engineer with 11 years of practical experience building cloud-native microservices using Java (Spring Boot, Quarkus) and Go, and deploying them with Docker and Kubernetes. Currently at SimplifyVMS, he blends backend systems work with hands-on infrastructure using AWS (ECR, EC2, RDS), Linux, and CI-friendly tooling. A recent University of Toronto graduate with interdisciplinary studies in psychology, economics, and statistics, he brings analytical rigor to system design and testing (JUnit, Postman, MyBatis). His GitHub focuses on network traffic analysis, reflecting a deeper interest in observability and low-level data flows beyond typical application code. Comfortable across languages from Rust and C++ to TypeScript and Python, he is equally at home optimizing databases (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB) and improving developer experience. Colleagues value his blend of pragmatic engineering and curiosity-driven exploration of performance and security trade-offs.
