Top SchoolKaren Hovsepian is a Senior Applied Scientist at AWS with a decade of experience translating advanced machine learning, statistical learning, and optimization techniques into high-performance production systems. She holds a PhD in Computer Science and a strong academic background as a former assistant professor and postdoc, where she applied ML and data mining to genomics, mobile sensing, and financial time-series forecasting. Her work spans bioinformatics to market modeling, reflecting a rare blend of applied math rigor and practical engineering for large-scale data problems. At AWS she focuses on scalable inference and data-driven solutions, bringing both research depth and hands-on high-performance programming skills. Colleagues appreciate her ability to bridge theoretical methods and real-world deployment, often surfacing non-obvious insights from noisy time-series and sensor data.
