Top SchoolKarolis Astrauka is a Staff Engineer with 13 years of experience building scalable web platforms and leading cross-functional teams across startups and large product companies. He has driven high-traffic backend systems and composable product platforms at Wix, solved MongoDB and Node.js scalability challenges for millions of sites, and continued to shape infrastructure and cloud-native work at Cast AI and Pickitoo. A pragmatic technical leader, he pairs hands-on development in Scala, Node.js and React with Lean/Agile delivery practices and a talent for spotting architectural weak points and guiding implementation. His background includes international stints (Erasmus in Denmark, internship at CERN) and strong people skills—mentoring peers, energizing teams, and applying emotional intelligence to improve collaboration. Notably, he began leading projects in youth organizations and carries that initiative into creating repeatable, high-quality delivery patterns at scale.
