Top SchoolKartik Hariharan is a Director of 2D Production Engineering with 12 years of experience building and scaling pipeline tooling for animation and VFX studios. He blends hands-on development in Python, PyMEL, PyQt and JavaScript with deep knowledge of Maya, Toon Boom Harmony, After Effects and renderers like Arnold and Renderman to automate complex production workflows. Kartik has driven cross-departmental integrations—bringing Golaem, SpeedTree and third-party tools into studio pipelines—and has a track record of converting TD ideas into robust, documented toolsets and test suites. He teaches and mentors as a part-time instructor, translating studio best practices into curriculum and rapid onboarding for new artists. Comfortable moving between UNIX/Windows scripting, source control systems and Unity game tooling, he often serves as the technical bridge between artists and engineering leads. Based in Ottawa, he pairs an engineering background in computer science with practical production instincts that prioritize developer ergonomics and measurable pipeline efficiency.
