Top SchoolKartik Perisetla is an Applied ML Scientist with 13 years of experience designing and shipping production-grade NLP and retrieval-augmented language systems at Apple and Microsoft. He leads cross-functional teams to improve open-domain question answering, long-context retrieval, and text generation for consumer products like Siri and Smart Compose, combining research (EMNLP publications) with hands-on engineering. His work spans search relevance, neural language modeling, and document semantic understanding, and he regularly mentors PhD interns and conducts technical hiring. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and grounded in an MS from Carnegie Mellon in NLP/ML, he brings a rare blend of academic rigor and product-focused delivery—often tackling hard problems like balancing parametric versus retrieved knowledge to reduce hallucinations in LLMs.
