Senior🎓
Top SchoolKas Buunk is a mission-critical software engineer and systems thinker with eight years of experience bridging art-world expertise and backend engineering, now focused on resilient Go and Rust services. After a career as an auctioneer, paintings valuer and economist, he pivoted into software by prototyping AI-assisted artist authentication—an unusual blend of domain knowledge and technical curiosity that informs his pragmatic approach to real-world problems. He has led backend tribes, standardized internal platforms, and built train-to-shore sensor systems that make hardware data reliably available to the public. Comfortable across on-prem deployments and cloud-native stacks, Kas pairs hands-on coding with architecting dependable systems for high-availability environments. Based in Bussum, Netherlands, he’s completing a part-time CS degree while contributing professional-grade backend work and shaping cross-team practices.
