Top SchoolKevin Zhang is a seasoned technology leader with over 14 years in DTV and set-top-box product development and more than a decade building SoC platform drivers, FPGA verification, and video codec stacks. As Director at VeriSilicon he leads the VPE open-source video pipeline and a PCIe video transcoding card program, collaborating directly with FFmpeg leadership and driving k8s integrations adopted by SoC vendors and cloud customers. His background spans end-to-end video systems engineering—from low-level HDMI/decoder drivers and power/DDR optimization at Marvell and Broadcom to wireless and long-range OFDM video transmission for drones at Yuneec. Kevin combines hands-on FPGA and cmodel verification experience with product delivery and mass-production support, routinely resolving critical system hangs and scaling workloads beyond 100 concurrent tasks. Based in Shanghai, he is a pragmatic problem-solver who blends deep embedded systems expertise with open-source collaboration to move hardware-accelerated video into production.
