Top SchoolKlaas Gadeyne is a sustainability-focused research leader with 19 years of experience translating engineering research into strategic roadmaps and operational projects. Based at Flanders Make in Leuven, he now coordinates sustainability and circular economy initiatives while continuing to lead research programs and proposals. He has a track record of building teams and launching complex digital transformation efforts—most notably steering work on digital twins and manufacturing knowledge graphs for smart factories. A PhD-qualified systems thinker who combines analytical rigor with hands-on execution, he is equally comfortable shaping high-level strategy and diving into implementation details. Known as a storyteller and people person, he brings practical, boots-in-the-mud pragmatism to cross-disciplinary collaborations. Colleagues describe him as a contrarian thinker who turns big-picture sustainability goals into measurable research outcomes.
