Senior🎓
Top SchoolKyle Douglass is a research engineer blending 11 years of optics and biophysics experience to build and simulate advanced fluorescence and label-free single-molecule imaging systems. Based at EPFL’s Laboratory of Experimental Biophysics, he combines hands-on optics, numerical methods, and software to translate complex imaging physics into practical experimental tools. His background spans a PhD in Optics and postdoctoral work that emphasize both theory and instrumentation, enabling rapid prototyping of imaging modalities and analysis pipelines. Colleagues value him for bridging experimental rigor with computational modeling—often revealing subtle system behaviors before they appear in data. Quietly iterative and methodical, he frequently pairs instrument design with bespoke simulation to accelerate discovery in single-molecule detection.
