Senior🎓
Top SchoolKyuhyun Byun is a seasoned software engineer with 10 years of experience building high-scale, cost-conscious infrastructure and ML data platforms from Seoul. Currently an ML Data Platform Engineer at Karrot, he architects vector inference pipelines with Vertex AI and Dataflow and has driven tangible optimizations like an 80% Redis cost reduction and 20%+ server performance gains. Previously he led development of a chat system serving 50+ million users—migrating legacy services to Go microservices, designing real-time serverless analytics, and replacing FCM with a WebSocket protocol for more reliable delivery. He combines cloud-native expertise (GCP/AWS), distributed systems, and serverless design with hands-on operational improvements such as ARM instance adoption and standardized logging/monitoring. Comfortable in leadership and cross-team roles, Kyuhyun blends product-minded engineering with a knack for squeezing cost and performance wins out of complex systems. An AWS Serverless Hero-style mindset and background in both CTO and game-backend roles underline his breadth from architecture to execution.
