Top SchoolLachlan De Waard is an IT and infrastructure manager with 13 years' experience leading strategy, service excellence and operational technology across education and utilities sectors in Brisbane. He combines hands-on systems engineering—Windows/Linux, Azure, Intune, virtualization, networking and automation—with policy, standards and project delivery experience from roles at Seqwater and multiple schools. Known for modernisation projects and extensive automation (PowerShell, Python, SQL), he has driven migrations, security and infrastructure redesigns that reduced complexity and improved reliability across large estates. At CoAct he now focuses on aligning IT strategy with organisational outcomes, ensuring technology enables business priorities rather than dictating them. A practical technologist who still codes and scripts, Lachlan brings a rare blend of top-to-bottom administrative oversight and deep technical craftsmanship.
