Top SchoolLaura Vonessen is a Software Engineer II based in Seattle with 12 years of experience building reliable systems that prioritize performance and usability. At Google she designed performance testing infrastructure used company-wide to catch regressions before they affected users, and she now brings that focus to her role at Transcend. Her academic work at the University of Washington combined research, tool prototyping, and faculty-facing studies to bake accessibility into CS education from day one, resulting in SIGCSE publications. She pairs production engineering rigor with human-centered research—experience that spans industry-scale tooling, HCI studies at Microsoft, and distributed course support as a TA. Not currently open to relocation, she blends deep technical craft with a rare emphasis on making software that works well for diverse users.
