Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolLee Pender is a pragmatic software leader and founder with over a decade of hands-on experience building scalable web applications and running a bespoke development shop in New York. He blends full-stack engineering (Rails, React, TypeScript, Elixir, Go) with product and systems design, having driven major migrations, data unification efforts, and fault-tolerant microservices for clients from IBM to academia. As Managing Member of Thought Driven Development he handles client strategy, contracting, hiring, and mentorship, and has repeatedly accelerated developer velocity and cut operational costs through pragmatic tooling and architecture changes. Notable wins include a 10x reduction in DSAR resolution time, unifying blog taxonomies to 100% via custom data transformations, and a zero-downtime e-commerce migration that recovered significant revenue. He brings a mix of entrepreneurial grit and technical depth, comfortable switching hats from hands-on coding to technical leadership. Colleagues know him for shipping reliable systems quickly and for an unapologetically adaptive mindset.
