Top SchoolLeon Luithlen is a Machine Learning Engineer and founder based in Berlin with eight years of experience building production ML systems at scale, including a multilingual recommender serving ~5 million users. He led development and infrastructure for a large codebase—covering modelling with PyTorch and LightFM, FastAPI services, CI/CD, Docker, Terraform and AWS—while shaping product roadmap and mentoring engineers. Leon now focuses on foundation models for non-language data at his startup, bringing an experimental psychology background to bridge human-centered design and ML. He has a history of pragmatic, structured engineering (RfCs, clean MRs) and a taste for crafting bespoke tooling, such as a Scala ML framework and custom KNN implementations.
