Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolLeonardo Polon is a software engineer with a decade of experience who transitioned from a biology background into web development, bringing a data-driven and process-oriented mindset to building e-commerce experiences. He has shipped checkout and partner-onboarding features at scale for major Brazilian retailers and platforms (Americanas, VTEX, Wellhub), specializing in TypeScript, React, and Node.js. His work spans front-end performance and accessibility improvements, observability and A/B testing infrastructure, and robust testing patterns that measurably increased conversion and reduced infrastructure costs. Comfortable across full-stack concerns, he frequently owns end-to-end features—forms, layout, payment UX, and admin dashboards—while also improving developer ergonomics and monitoring. Based in Rio de Janeiro, he combines Lean process experience and analytical automation skills from his analyst days with hands-on engineering, and he shares prototypes and experiments on GitHub under lpolon.
