Liang Ma
Summary
🤩
RockstarLiang M is a seasoned software engineer with 8+ years in mobile and video platform engineering, currently shaping core product infrastructure and video architecture at Pinterest. He brings deep client/mobile expertise from early platform-building roles at Uber—where he was a founding iOS networking and performance engineer—and a long history of shipping native apps and frameworks dating back to leading mobile teams at Telenav. At Pinterest he architects transcoding, delivery, and playback systems while also improving observability and cross-platform build tooling, demonstrating a rare blend of low-level systems thinking and product-facing delivery. Comfortable across C++, iOS, and large-scale infra, he’s the kind of engineer who migrates startups to robust, production-ready platforms and thrives in firefighting and foundational library work. Based in San Francisco, he pairs pragmatic engineering leadership with hands-on coding discipline, often tackling the less glamorous but critical plumbing that keeps large apps responsive and reliable.
