Top SchoolLouie Thiros is a firmware engineer with 13 years of experience building safety-critical and low-level systems for robotics, aerospace, and consumer platforms. Currently at Amazon Robotics, he focuses on advanced research platforms, drawing on past roles at Zoox for board bringup and functional safety and at Apple for silicon bringup and low-level transport drivers. His background includes flight-critical avionics software at General Atomics and platform research during multiple internships, giving him a strong blend of reliability-first engineering and rapid prototyping. Comfortable across firmware, IC-focused projects, and front-end platform work early in his career, he bridges hardware bringup to system-level validation. Based in San Diego, he pairs a pragmatic engineering style with a playful open-source presence—“actual rat with a keyboard”—that hints at restless curiosity and frequent experimental side projects.
