Louise McMahon
Software Engineer
Sheffield, England, United Kingdom
Summary
👤
SeniorLouise Mcmahon is an experienced, people-focused engineering manager with nine years of delivering high-availability cloud-native systems and a strong track record of scaling teams and processes. She combines hands-on engineering (PHP, Go, TypeScript, AWS, DevOps and test automation) with leadership roles—from founding Engineera to managing 28 engineers at Siemens and kickstarting new teams at Street Group—helping teams raise test coverage and ramp fast under pressure. Comfortable working across public and private sectors, she has led migrations to cloud, implemented CI/CD and saved substantial costs through automation while owning hiring, budgets and career development. Outside work she applies the same practical curiosity to caving, climbing and scuba diving, and contributes locally as a trustee of Sheffield Hackspace, revealing a hands-on maker ethos that informs her approach to engineering and mentorship.
