Top SchoolLucas Dreyer is a Senior Software Engineer based in Cape Town with over a decade of experience building production-grade infrastructure and platform services for cloud and fintech environments. He has a strong track record at Oracle working on large-scale cloud compute systems—ranging from logging and placement services to VM hardware monitoring and GPU passthrough—and now focuses on foundational services at Sanlam Fintech. Lucas combines low-level systems expertise (C++, hardware control, VHDL/Verilog exposure) with backend and API work in JavaScript/Node and Java, allowing him to move comfortably between embedded, server, and cloud stacks. He has led small technical projects end-to-end, mentored many engineers and interns, and run hiring interviews at scale, reflecting both hands-on delivery and people-first craftsmanship. Holding a Master’s in Computer Science and an engineering degree in Electrical & Electronics with Computer Science, he brings a rare blend of formal academic depth and practical systems engineering. An understated strength is his history of building integration and testing tooling that kept large, distributed teams productive across complex repositories.
