Senior🎓
Top SchoolLuke Alford is a seasoned Software Development Engineer based in Seattle with over a decade of hands-on experience building reliable, high-throughput systems across media, security, travel, and cloud infrastructure. Currently at Amazon Web Services, he focuses on infrastructure development and automation, drawing on prior roles that ranged from platform engineering with Scala and Puppet to designing security event pipelines that processed billions of events per day. He combines systems engineering, DevOps, and backend development skills (C, C++, Java, Scala) with a strong sensitivity for user experience and gaming—an uncommon product-minded perspective for an infrastructure-focused engineer. Luke has a track record of improving performance, reliability, and deployability through smarter queuing, multithreading, and automated configuration, and he brings practical experience integrating low-level systems with web services and orchestration tools. A Georgia Tech computer engineering graduate, he’s comfortable both in deeply technical troubleshooting and in shaping automation that keeps large-scale services running smoothly.
