Top SchoolMaren Ihlemann is a Senior Engineer Scientist at EPRI Canada with seven years of experience specializing in resource adequacy, climate-resilient planning, and multi-energy system modelling. She holds a PhD from KU Leuven where she led development of the open-source SpineOpt modelling tool, bringing a strong emphasis on flexible temporal and stochastic model structures. At EPRI she advances novel RA metrics and integrates emerging technologies like hydrogen into production-cost and capacity-expansion workflows. Trained in energy and mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen, she combines deep academic research with practical tool development and applied transmission planning. Colleagues describe her strength as translating complex modelling architecture into usable, open tools that bridge research and operational planning.
