Senior🎓
Top SchoolMasahiro Nakao is a technical scientist with 15 years of hands-on experience in high-performance computing, specializing in parallel languages, GPU acceleration, and supercomputer operations. Based at RIKEN, he helps run and optimize Fugaku—installing user-facing tools like Open OnDemand and accelerating HPC applications with CUDA, MPI, OpenMP and OpenACC. His background includes designing supercomputer network topologies and developing original parallel language implementations dating back to academic work on GPU-equipped clusters. Comfortable across low-level C/C++ and systems tooling (Lustre, Slurm, Singularity) as well as Python and cloud services, he bridges research-grade performance tuning with practical infrastructure delivery. An often-overlooked strength is his blend of systems administration and language-design expertise, enabling both better developer usability and peak computational throughput.
