Summary
👤
SeniorMatheus Mendes is a Senior Staff Software Engineer based in Seattle with 15 years of experience building and leading high-performance, large-scale distributed systems. He combines hands-on engineering—authoring low-latency Golang services that handle millions of requests per minute—with proven leadership, having grown teams and driven product-led revenue increases of over 1,300% at Gametime. His strengths include cloud architecture, performance optimization, and translating business requirements into robust, compliant systems (CCPA/GDPR experience included). Matheus has led major migrations to cloud databases, rebuilt mission-critical marketing and search platforms, and reduced operational footprint while scaling throughput to tens of millions of messages weekly. Early career experience across adtech, consumer apps, and recommendation systems gives him a rare breadth of domain knowledge from startups to large enterprises. He’s equal parts pragmatic fixer and system designer—aptly summed up on GitHub as someone who “finds, fixes, and creates bugs for a living.”
