Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolMatt Malec is a software and infrastructure engineer with eight years of experience building scalable, cost-conscious systems from Kubernetes and AWS to bare-metal clusters. Based in Syracuse, he has led infrastructure teams and technical efforts at ZORA and Primo Group, where he migrated workloads to multi-tenant bare-metal clusters and implemented HA email, VPN, and AD solutions that reduced operating costs. He’s also run his own projects — founding Project Nova to build a TRON Telegram bot and running blockchain-backed initiatives like iTraceIT while designing EKS/Fargate-based architectures. Currently a software engineer at fal, Matt combines hands-on sysadmin chops with tech leadership as a former senior infrastructure engineer and tech lead. He’s pragmatic about balancing reliability and expense, and often surfaces operational improvements that save money without sacrificing availability. Notably, his background spans both developer-facing automation and customer-facing application work, giving him fluency across the full stack of production systems.
