Top SchoolMattia Astorino is an Italian design engineer and founder of Vira Software with over 11 years of hands-on experience building design systems, component libraries, and UI frameworks. He bridges visual design and front-end engineering end-to-end, from Figma component design to production-ready implementations in HTML, CSS and React, with a particular passion for CSS craftsmanship. As Lead Design Engineer at Lualtek and previous design-system leads, he drove token-driven theming, component APIs, and Figma-to-frontend synchronization to reduce UI inconsistencies and speed delivery. He contributes to notable open-source CSS work like fixes and enhancements in the 30-seconds-of-css project, reflecting a habit of polishing small but impactful UI details. Based in Muggiò, Lombardy, he runs experimental UI tooling at Vira Software and has a long history of self-directed study and R&D into scalable frontend architectures. Colleagues describe him as a pragmatic designer-engineer who prioritizes accessibility, maintainability, and developer adoption in production UI systems.
