Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolMaurizio Porrato is a Senior Systems Administrator with 11 years of professional experience and a long career managing GNU/Linux and BSD-based systems across telecommunications, automotive, and enterprise cloud environments. He currently works at Red Hat after five years as an OpenStack specialist at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, bringing deep expertise in OpenStack deployment, customization, and production-grade system reliability. His background includes embedded Linux firmware development for automotive applications and VoIP/CTI solutions design, reflecting a practical blend of low-level firmware work and large-scale infrastructure. Comfortable with SunOS/Solaris (SPARC), network administration, and scripting in Python and PHP, he pairs system administration with hands-on development skills. Based in Ireland and educated in computer science, Maurizio is driven by open-source technologies and operational excellence, often bridging gaps between development and operations in complex deployments. A less obvious strength is his history in teaching and helpdesk roles, which sharpens his ability to explain technical concepts and lead operational troubleshooting under pressure.
