Principle Programmer at Ogre Games Ltd
Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom
Summary
👤
SeniorMike Dailly is a veteran game and tools programmer with over 30 years of experience, currently Principal Programmer at Sumo Digital and founder of indie studio Ogre Games. He combines deep low-level expertise (assembler across many CPUs, C/C++, .NET) with high-level platform portability—having helped evolve GameMaker into a multi-platform professional tool and shipped code across consoles, mobile and web. A creator of iconic titles and retro-emulation work, he’s comfortable across graphics, audio, networking, multithreading and distributed systems, and loves optimisation. His background includes building custom engines, GIS processing and cross‑platform tooling from prototype to production. Based in Dundee, he balances hands-on coding with mentoring and tool design that enables others to make games. An unusual strength is his breadth: from kernel/console hacking to modern WebGL and NUnit-backed testable systems.
