Top SchoolMike South is a seasoned software engineering manager with 17 years of experience designing and shipping robust, cloud-native web applications and operational tooling. Currently leading a small team at Ambra Health, he combines hands-on development of REST services for medical imaging with pragmatic managerial practices that emphasize reliability and measurable process improvement. His background spans fintech, SaaS, and enterprise operations—at Discover he built a production-ready, CI/CD-driven analytics app on AWS and Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and at Oracle/NetSuite he ran 24/7 site reliability and tools teams supporting hundreds of thousands of users. A longtime open-source and scripting practitioner (notably Perl and LAMP-era systems), he excels at automating tedious processes and turning manual workflows into auditable, database-backed solutions. Based in McKinney, Texas, he brings both systems-level thinking and a hands-on engineering mindset, mentoring teams while still contributing meaningful code to core products.
