Top SchoolMikhail Doronin is an engineering team lead based in Paris with 16 years of experience building backend systems and leading software teams. He moved from academic research—earning a PhD in physics and developing experiment control and data treatment software—to industry, applying rigorous problem solving to service-oriented Java architectures and database-backed systems. Since 2015 he has led engineering efforts at Captain Train, pairing hands-on development with team leadership to deliver reliable production services. His background in quantum physics and ultra-high vacuum experimentation gives him uncommon depth in translating complex scientific requirements into robust software. Comfortable across research and product environments, he brings a methodical, data-driven approach to building scalable, maintainable systems. Colleagues value him for bridging deep technical knowledge with practical delivery in multicultural, high-expectation settings.
