Summary
👤
SeniorMingyang Li is a software development manager in San Francisco with 14 years of experience building reliable, production-grade systems at scale. Currently leading teams at eBay, he has a track record of modernizing legacy CI, automating tedious PR workflows, and instituting contract-first development that migrated 900+ data models to OpenAPI. His background includes anomaly-detection work for YouTube-scale data at Google and building parallel pipelines for financial and social-science research during his time at Penn and Wharton. Mingyang combines hands-on engineering with pragmatic team leadership—removing two hours of manual work per pull request and eliminating flaky network-dependent tests. He holds an MSE in Data Science from the University of Pennsylvania and a BSc in Materials and Nanosciences from Waterloo, reflecting a cross-disciplinary approach to data and systems. Off the clock he’s as likely to be hunting down a tricky production bug as arranging an in-person board game night.
