Top SchoolMustafa Altun is a seasoned engineering leader with 13 years of experience building large-scale distributed systems and real-time data platforms, now serving as VP of Engineering at Poolside. He has progressed from founding engineer to head of applied research engineering and now VP, driving code execution systems and agent harnesses that support massive-scale reinforcement learning by code execution feedback. Previously he led critical infrastructure at Uber—designing real-time analytics and a distributed payments data platform—and has deep hands-on experience building multi-tenant gaming backends serving tens of millions of users. Mustafa combines research-driven applied engineering with product-focused delivery, shipping platforms that turn ML research into production-grade systems. Based in the Randstad, he pairs a mathematics background from Boğaziçi University with a founder’s mentality from early startup and co‑founder roles. Notably, he has repeatedly architected execution and data stacks that bridge experimental AI workloads and hardened production operations.
