Top SchoolNatalie Wagenbrenner is a research meteorologist with 12 years of experience applying engineering, atmospheric science, and programming to tackle wildland fire challenges from both field and lab perspectives. Based in Missoula, Montana, she leads applied research at the Missoula Fire Sciences Laboratory and previously assessed forest disturbance impacts on erosion, water, and air quality at the Rocky Mountain Research Station. She holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in Biological Systems Engineering from Washington State University and a B.S. in Biological Engineering, blending rigorous quantitative training with practical fieldwork. Known for integrating computational tools into fire science, she bridges modeling, instrumentation, and hands-on experiments to inform fire behavior and post-fire recovery. An outcome-oriented collaborator, she brings a rare combination of engineering rigor and on-the-ground wildfire expertise to science-driven management solutions.
