Nich Overend
Director at Opus Technology Investors Ltd
London, England, United Kingdom
Summary
👤
SeniorNich Overend is a hands-on technology leader and director based in London with 12 years of senior IT and architecture experience, and a much longer practical history founding and scaling digital businesses. He has repeatedly taken companies from concept to production—shaping architecture, governance and delivery for startups (CTO at Quiet Explosion) and complex enterprise programmes (UK Borders Agency, EU Monitoring Trustee). Comfortable at both the board level and in the codebase, he combines strategic vision for AI-enabled trading platforms with pragmatic delivery of cloud, virtualization and migration projects. His background spans entrepreneurship, M&A-era integration (Cable & Wireless), and specialist consulting for large banks and public bodies, giving him a rare mix of commercial, technical and regulatory fluency. Known as a “hands-dirty CTO,” he often drives governance and engineering practices personally while building teams and vendor ecosystems. His career shows a consistent pattern: turn raw ideas and legacy systems into auditable, scalable technology products that sell.
