Top SchoolNicolas Avila is a Software Development Engineer with 11 years of experience building full-stack systems for large-scale consumer products, currently shaping Alexa’s Question & Answering knowledge platform at Amazon. He owns and evolves a CMS-style Knowledge Management System used by non-technical editors to grow a knowledge graph, driving improvements from core ontology design to measurable productivity gains for users. Previously he built backend services and a test-generation stack at Amazon and Google, creating tools (like the Charlotte ADT library and WhizBang test generator) that produce trillions of test cases and continue to be used across teams. Comfortable across database, backend, and frontend layers, he also contributes to team strategy and roadmaps in a small, fast-moving team. An engineer who blends product-minded UX improvements with deep systems and testing craftsmanship, he brings practical ownership of libraries that scale beyond his immediate team.
