Senior🎓
Top SchoolNikolai Long is a Senior Software Engineer with six years of experience building cloud-native backend systems, now focusing on AWS platform engineering at Capital One. He has a strong Java Spring Boot background and practical experience in GCP migrations and RESTful SOA from his work at CNA Insurance, complemented by early-career embedded and aerospace software projects at Virginia Tech and Orion Space Solutions. Comfortable across the stack, he pairs backend service design with systems-level thinking—trajectory simulations, CFD analysis, and satellite firmware work hint at a rare blend of cloud engineering and physical-systems intuition. A Virginia-based Virginia Tech alum who has led a capstone-winning web app and taught data structures, he brings both hands-on coding and mentorship experience to deliver reliable, purpose-driven software.
