Panagiotis Syskakis is a C++ systems engineer and graduate researcher with five years of experience building and optimizing parallel and distributed software at LSU’s Center for Computation & Technology. He contributes to HPX, has a track record of diagnosing long-standing parallel/distributed bugs across diverse systems, and implemented automated performance CI/CD and rigorous performance analysis for C++ parallel algorithms. His projects include accelerating OpenMP with HPX user-space threading for up to 1.5x speedup and creating a modern std::experimental::simd library for RISC-V to enable SIMD acceleration on emerging hardware. As a GSoC mentor and org admin he helps grow open-source HPC ecosystems, and his background in both computer science and electrical & computer engineering gives him a cross-disciplinary edge when tuning low-level performance.
