Top SchoolPankaj Kumar is a postdoctoral researcher and scientific software developer with 8 years of experience applying statistical, machine learning, and physical modeling techniques to atmospheric chemistry and remote sensing challenges. Based at KIT, he improves large-scale physical simulations (ICON-ART) with ML and has a strong track record of building widely used Python libraries for bias correction, polar vortex analysis, and receptor/source attribution (tens of thousands of downloads). His work spans causal discovery, explainable AI, HPC-driven global chemistry simulations, and visualization—bridging rigorous science with production-ready open-source tools. Trained with a PhD in Atmospheric Chemistry from IIT Kharagpur, he brings hands-on expertise in GEOS-Chem, RRTMG, HySPLIT workflows, and Google Earth Engine. An eye for reproducible, parallelized solutions means he often tackles computational bottlenecks others avoid, turning complex observational datasets into actionable insights.
