Top SchoolParis Butterfield is a Senior Platform Services Engineer with over a decade of experience building and operating large-scale backend systems, now architecting online services for Netflix including Squid Game: Unleashed and Netflix Stories. He has a strong track record in game and telecom infrastructures from Epic Games and Bandwidth, designing Kafka Streams pipelines that processed up to a billion events per day and migrating critical systems to Kubernetes and OpenShift. Paris brings deep AWS and serverless experience from re-architecting document delivery platforms at LexisNexis and has repeatedly improved performance and operability through pragmatic automation and testing frameworks. Comfortable spanning development, DevOps, and platform engineering, he pairs hands-on coding (Java, Spring, Python) with infrastructure design to deliver reliable, scalable services. Based in Raleigh, NC, he’s known for mentoring teams on integration testing and for engineering practical data movement solutions—such as exporting in-memory stores to Kafka—for complex production ecosystems.
