Top SchoolPaul Shippy is a Staff Software Engineer with nine years of focused industry experience and a long track record of senior engineering roles across healthcare, education, and sustainability platforms. He specializes in full-stack development, API design, database architecture, and automated testing, and has repeatedly led codebase migrations, CI pipelines, and backlog refinement to improve team velocity. Based in Gilbert, AZ, he blends hands-on engineering with mentorship, having progressed from web and curriculum software work for homeschool-focused organizations to principal engineering roles at Solera and StrongMind. A Christian homeschooling dad of six, he brings a values-driven perspective and practical empathy to product decisions, especially in education and policy-adjacent domains. Notably, he pairs a BA in Government with a technical BS in IT-software, which helps him navigate both technical tradeoffs and the broader social contexts of the systems he builds.
